gashstep1
Start by placing the scare on a flat part of the arm (the less hair the better). Use Spirit gum to glue the scar into place.
armgashstep2
Use a cream flesh color to blend the outer edges.
armgashstep3 Use a stiple sponge and a dark color (brown) to stiple around the edges of the scar.
armgashstep4
The blending of the lighter and dark colors helps to give the wound a nice "infected" look and hides the glued edges.
armgashstep5 Now use a gel blood to start filling in the inside layer of the gash.
armgashstep6 The more glistening the effect the more realistic the look.
armgashstep7 Use more stipling to blend edges as needed.
armgashstep8 More blending with blood as needed.
armgashstep9 Use colors from your bruise effects wheel to add more realism. When the gash is new it will be red and swollen. So use the red color around the edges of the inside of the gash.
armgashstep10 This gash is looking pretty bad by now...which is good!
armgashstep11 Here are some views of the finished arm. Nicely infected and bleeding!
armgashstep12 Close up!
armgashstep13 I think you might need a stitch!
armgashstep14 Most would agree this looks painful!!
